When I was born, my mother was 21, a college student. She pursued her Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, driving back and forth between school in Tennessee and home in Illinois, dropping me off at day care so she could go to class.

As a single mom, drowning in student loans, it would have been easy to choose abortion. She is now debt-free, remarried, overcoming cancer and is pursuing her second master’s degree in Business Administration. Together, she and my stepdad give so much to me and my siblings.

I March for Life because my mom continues to have the strength and perseverance to achieve the life she wants, even through the unexpected, and I know all women can do the same.

Shortly before I was born, my mother got very sick. She had pre-eclampsia.

In an emergency medical procedure, I was delivered early at 7 months, with doctors working very hard to save us both.

Today, there are babies who are older than I was whose lives are being taken. I March for Life, no matter how developed.

I was adopted seven years before the end of China's One-Child policy.

One Friday night, my mom and I watched a documentary that showed scenes of heartbroken Chinese mothers after their forced abortions.

It was especially difficult to fall asleep that night.

I thank my biological mother for choosing life over a government program. I march so that all mothers may choose life.

I was 15, wearing my Sunday best at my cousin Matt's summer wedding. Grandparents, relatives, & friends all turned to see a special delivery coming down the aisle. The flower girl pulled Matt's 2 year old daughter, Payton, in a small red wagon.

Although I was taught it was wrong to have a kid before marriage, there was another quiet, but firm message: abortion is not an option because we pull through for family.

I march for life for Payton, for Matt, and so every pregnant mother & father knows that we've got their back!

I was sitting in class in middle school. A few videos that explained what happens in an abortion were being shown by my teacher.

A class that usually needed reminders to be quiet was noiseless.

I had to look away from the screen a few times; it hurt to see innocent babies being treated in this way.

I march because life has dignity, and should be protected, especially at its most vulnerable stage.

My younger cousin has nearly died twice in his life; once, at 10 months old, from a rare reaction to a treatment he was prescribed, and once, at 7 years old, from a staph infection.

During these days and nights, his parents had to deal with getting their other kids to extracurriculars all while facing the shocking reality that their own son could die that day.

Yet, they fought on, because his life was so much more important than any “hassle”.

I March for Life because any child's life is more important than the "hassle" of caring for them.

The congregation was in awe as Father shared the number of conversions caused by the apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

He then told us the amount of sacrifices that occurred yearly in the Americas before the miracle, namely that of children, and we were horrified.

Finally, he recounted the number of abortions that occur yearly in the U.S.

The human sacrifices were outnumbered 43 to 1 by the number of abortions.

My heart was heavy with sorrow and helplessness. I March for Life so that children are celebrated, not sacrificed.

When my mother was pregnant with my younger sister, she was pressured by a doctor to have an abortion.

She was told that her child’s life wouldn’t be worth living due to genetic problems.

Despite this, my mother chose life, and I now have a little sister who is healthy, happy, and successful.

I understand now that even if she had been born with genetic disorders, her life would not be worth any less. I March for Life for Trinity, and for all those who are judged by their genetic makeup..
